Musee Du Petit Prince De Saint-Exupery a Hakone

As part of a global commemorative project to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Saint-Exupery, the world’s first Museum of the Little Prince opened on June 29, 1999. In order to create a space where you can spend a comfortable time, we chose Hakone, which has a rich natural environment and is known worldwide as one of Japan’s leading tourist destinations.

In the exhibition hall, which is the center of the museum, materials such as photographs, letters, and personal belongings, as well as the scenery of his time were reproduced, introducing the life of Saint-Exupery and the history of “The Little Prince” Is explained. In the video hall, you can enjoy a video introducing the life of Saint-Exupery and the story of “The Little Prince” on a 400-inch screen.

星の王子さまミュージアム

サン=テグジュペリ生誕100年を祝した世界的記念事業の一環として、世界ではじめての星の王子さまミュージアムが1999年6月29日にオープンしました。心地よい時間を過ごすことができる空間づくりのために、恵まれた自然環境を持ち、日本を代表する観光地の一つとして世界的に知られている、箱根の地を選びました。

ミュージアムの中心となる展示ホールでは、写真や手紙、愛用品などの資料展示や彼が過ごした当時の風景が再現され、サン=テグジュペリの生涯を紹介し、『星の王子さま』が生まれた経緯を解説しています。また、映像ホールではサン=テグジュペリの生涯と『星の王子さま』の物語を紹介した映像が400インチのスクリーンでお楽しみいただけます。

作者サン=テグジュペリについて

アントワーヌ・ド・サン=テグジュペリは1900年6月29日、フランスのリヨンで生まれました。
幼少の頃飛行士に憧れ、飛行士として活躍しながら、作家デビューし、数々の作品を発表しました。
飛行士の体験をもとに『南方郵便機』（1929年）、『夜間飛行』（1931年）や『人間の大地』（1939年）などを出版。

第二次世界大戦中、亡命先のアメリカにて『星の王子さま』を執筆し、1943年に出版。同年軍に復帰し、翌1944年7月31日地中海コルシカ島から偵察飛行に飛び立ったまま、消息を絶ちました。
